weekly circles

Reciprocity.
One of NAHLA’s primary offerings is weekly women’s circles. Each circle consists of 8-12 women-identifying participants including one qualified facilitator/host. Circles occur at the same location each week and run for a set number of weeks (typically ten). There are circles in the Greater Vancouver (British Columbia) area, and circles starting in other locations across the country. Online circles are also available if you prefer to meet remotely. If you are interested in starting a circle in your neighbourhood/city or online, please click the “Apply to be a Host” button.
While every week is different, an example of a weekly circle timeline is as follows:
Arrive and settle into the circle with a cup of tea
Drop-in guided meditation/embodiment practice led by the facilitator
Everyone shares a win and a challenge from their week
Review of the week’s topic and corresponding prompts. Some topic examples include empowerment, embodiment, sensuality, intuition, relationships, deconditioning/rewilding, creativity, sexuality, gender, spirituality, self-love, death/life, and more.
Conversation begins, structured by question prompts, with participants organically taking turns sharing their responses and holding space for one another in active listening.
Facilitator leads group through a final exercise (i.e. dyad, creative game, dance, etc)
Key takeaways and circle closing
The intention to commitedly to show up each week is an important aspect of reaping the rewards of circles. We show up how we are, even if we are not “at our best”. We can share as much or as little as we like, but we show up knowing our presence is entirely welcome no matter our emotional state. Because of the alchemy of this commitment, we do ask that those who sign up have intention to be able to come each week (unless sick, there is an emergency, or they’re out of town). Confidentiality is paramount in creating a safe place to share in which each person is heard and their vulnerabilities kept private and sacred.
Reciprocity for being apart of a NAHLA Community ten-week circle is $200. This cost covers administration, supplies and weekly host/facilitator compensation. If you cannot afford this fee, please let us know.
